About Marginalia
I have never been particularly good at staying in one intellectual lane.
I can spend the morning reading about quantum physics, disappear into Jane Eyre or Peter Pan for the afternoon, listen to Tchaikovsky over coffee, and dance to the Ignition remix while making dinner. I am a Trekkie and a Sassenach, an unapologetic nerd, a lover of old books and loud music, history and science, musicals and mysteries, Mozart and Biggie Smalls.
More than anything, I am curious.
Marginalia is a place for the things I notice in the margins: questions that won't leave me alone, connections between seemingly unrelated things, stories and memories, music that makes me think, books that send me wandering, bits of history that deserve another look, and whatever subject has captured my attention long enough for me to start pulling at the thread. It is also a place to make things, for poetry, short stories and whatever else escapes from the more imaginative corners of my brain.
There is no promise that one essay will have much to do with the next. That's rather the point.
My other blog, Blessed Are the Peacemakers, is where I write specifically about faith, scripture and covenant.
Marginalia is its somewhat less supervised sister, where the rest of my brain gets to roam.
